President’s Welcome

Dear #Seaford99 Community,

WHAT A SEASON! 223 awesome Little Athletes competed week after week with smiles on their faces, friends at their sides and the hope of a new PB in the next event.

Firstly, please let me congratulate the 2025-26 Committee for their continued support of our Centre and our Community. Although there have been challenges, I believe we have worked together to create solutions that benefit everyone. This season has seen lots of our community members take on roles that are unknown and oftentimes scary, but they have done so with passion and a resilience that has resulted in a safe and supportive program each week for our kids. Our Coaching Crew grew this season as well, and now we have lots of mums and dads lending a hand and sharing their knowledge with our kids. It’s truly a great time to be a member of our Centre.

Our Open Day was a tremendous success and a shining example of what we are capable of when we all work together. With over 500 athletes registered to attend our BIG day, I don’t mind telling you that we were all shaking in our runners (just a little bit). But in the spirit of Little Athletics, our community rallied and with help from some volunteers from other centres, the day was a HUGE success with lots and lots of great feedback from the 445 athletes in attendance throughout the day. From me to you, THANKYOU to each and every one of you who turned up to your duty on time, raked a pit, retrieved a discus, baked some goodies, fried some chips, marshalled the athletes, and provided support to the athletes and their families who trusted us on the day.

In what may well be my last season as President, it has been an absolute honour and a privilege to lead this Committee for 2 years. My family came to Seaford Little Athletics during a particularly rough period, and from the moment we stepped on to this arena, I knew that this was a space in which my boys could thrive and I could find my tribe. While my time as President has come to an end, my tenure with Seaford Little Athletics has not, so I will continue on the Committee in support of the new President and the Committee as a whole.

In a couple of weeks, we will begin to turn our attentions to the Cross Country and Winter Race Walking Season in which we will once again join forces with Frankston LAC, Mornington LAC and Chelsea LAC under the Peninsula XC banner. While we understand many of our athletes compete in other sports over the Winter break, please consider joining us on a Saturday morning at Seaford North P.S, Ballam Park Athletics Track and Mount Martha Park and continue to show your support for our community.
