At Seaford Little Athletics Centre (SLAC), we’re passionate about allowing our Little Athletes the space to compete in a safe, fun and inclusive environment . We are committed to supporting Little Athletes and their families with all abilities compete at whatever level they require. We believe that Little Athletics is a great sport for kids to develop self-confidence, teamwork, discipline and resilience
We are a volunteer run club and we do expect all parents/caregivers to get involved in some capacity. This ensures everyone is involved in the programs success, and duties can range from helping set up to cooking sausages to joining the Committee and having a say in the future success.

Extreme Weather Policy
LAVics Extreme Weather guidelines have been developed to assist organisers, coaches and officials in deciding whether an event or training should be modified or cancelled and when it is safe to compete in the heat.
The decision to cancel a centre level event is the responsibility of the SLAC Committee. Parents should always consider the health and safety of their children and themselves when deciding whether to attend events.
It is the responsibility of event organisers, SLAC personnel, coaches, parents, guardians and other relevant individuals to read and understand the LAVic Extreme Weather Policy.
Timing of Cancellation
The decision to cancel an event is never an easy decision, but its made with the safety of our Community in mind.
Our Committee will convene at the clubrooms prior to the event and assess the grounds, the forecast and the likelihood of injury should the events proceed.
In most cases we will adjust the program to a Wet Weather one and continue as planned, however, occassionally we will need to cancel the program all together.
This will be communicated via email to all registered members and Trials, as well as posted to our Socials. If you dont receive an email or there is no post, the program is going ahead as planned.
Should the weather deteriorate further once the program has started, the Committee, together with the event officials will monitor and adjust accordingly. This could include cancelling the remainder of the program altogether.
Regardless of the decision of the Committee, Parents should always consider the health and safety of their children and themselves when deciding whether to attend events.
