Frequently asked questions.

FAQS - Trials

I’ve registered for a trial. How does that work?

  • Trials apply to our competition days (most Saturdays).

  • Trials don’t have to be two weeks in a row.

  • Trial athletes are welcome to training days

Is training compulsory?

No. Your trial athlete is more than welcome to come to training days during their trial period. It is an extra optional.

Where do I go on my first day?

There will be a tent set up for Trial Athletes on the field. Please arrive 20-30min before the start of the program to ensure your athlete is ticked off & ready to start at 8:30am sharp.

How do I register after trial completion?

Little Athletics Victoria will send you an email follow up once your athlete has completed two trials to register. Here’s the link to registering with Seaford Little Athletics Centre.

When does my athlete get their permanent bib for the season?

Trial athletes will get temporary bib for each trial they attend.

After an athlete is registered, parents will need to ensure that they provide Proof of Age before the permanent bib is printed.

If the Proof of Age is done right before the program, the bib can be printed on the spot. If it’s been uploaded, it will get printed on the Friday and put into your Age Group Managers folder.

Do I have to stay? What do I do?

Yes, it is required for each athlete to have a parent/guardian attend.

We are fully volunteer run and depend on our parents to help out each week in order to run each week. Ask your age group manager what you can help with. Here’s some ideas:

  • Kid wrangling - getting in order for each event; keeping them engaged and warmed up

  • Writing down the measurements for field events

  • Raking the sand pit

  • Measuring long jumps/shotput/discus/javelin throws

Once you become a member, there are 2 volunteer duties we ask of each family per season. Many hands makes light work.
